Peripheral Vision Arts is now accepting submissions for the inaugural online SOLO Exhibitions 2017 to coincide with the publication of journal Issue No. 5. This Publication Fellowship opportunity is open to American visual artists working in all genres, including currently enrolled studio MFA graduate students. Top applicants will be paired with a Peripheral Vision critic in their genre who will curate an online exhibition and draft a 500 word didactic text. Each exhibition will become a permanent installation on our website and will be announced through our email subscription and social media accounts. Publication Fellows will also receive a custom Artist Profile page, including an image gallery, biography, statement, embedded video, and links; and an Instagram Takeover (4 posts) @peripheralvisionarts. Fellows may also complete our custom Interview Questionnaire, consisting of approximately 30 questions on a range of topics from inspirations and methods, to issues affecting women artists.

All SOLO Exhibitions 2017 texts will be published in conjunction with Peripheral Vision, Issue No. 5, a free art criticism journal read by arts professionals, curators, admissions committees, art advisors, and collectors around the world. All journal content is publicly accessible online, and bibliographies with links are distributed via our social media platforms and free email subscription. For many artists, a Peripheral Vision publication will be the first substantive critical analysis of their work by a professional critic in a public forum, and may be invaluable to attracting grants, residencies, exhibitions, job offers, or promotions. Publication Fellows benefit from our website's outstanding Search Engine Optimization and by becoming part of an elite community of talented professional artists, critics, and curators.

Peripheral Vision SOLO Exhibitions 2017 are open to all creators residing in the US who are over the age of 21 working in traditional or experimental formats, in all media and in all styles. Students enrolled in studio MFA degree programs are welcome to apply. Peripheral Vision Arts will award Publication Fellowships on the basis of merit to those artists with a proven commitment to their craft through a mastery of technique, innovativeness of concept, educational experience, and/or professional practice, and the degree to which the work invites substantive critical inquiry. The quality of written statements is a primary factor in determining an applicant's candidacy.

2) Complete the Application Form by clicking the "Apply" button below, entering the Order Number in the appropriate field. By applying, applicants agree to the Terms. In the Application Form, please cut and paste an Artist Statement of 300 words or less, and a brief narrative Biography of 75 - 200 words in the appropriate fields.
3) Submit by email 3 Work Samples plus any details with the image list in the email body text to Scott Gleeson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Images should be in jpeg, pdf, or png format (72-300 dpi, 1000-3000 pixels, less than 5MB each); links to videos or website should include a still image. All file names should be in a lastname.firstname_1.jpg format. In the email subject line, please provide your Last Name and Order Number. See the FAQ page for tips on making your application competitive and insuring your images are ready for publication.
Solo Exhibitions 2017 allow applicants awarded Publication Fellowships to present a curated selection of their work as a permanent installation on our website.
